Hilltop Obstetrics & Gynecology New Patients

Welcome to Hilltop Obstetrics & Gynecology. Whether you are a new or established patient, we want you to feel comfortable during your visit. After office hours, our physicians are on-call to care for your emergent needs. We're here for you, when you need us most. We try to gather us much information from you when you call to schedule your appointment, but we also offer a previsit check-in a few days prior to your appointment. You will be emailed a link to check in prior to your visit. You will be able to verify that all the information we have for you is correct and update or correct anything necessary. This allows for a quick and simple check in once you arrive. Also, it's important to bring with you your current insurance card, driver's license, and your copay or any out-of pocket payment that's required by your insurance company. If you choose not to complete the previsit check-in we request that you arrive 15 minutes early so you can verify all your information prior to your appointment time.

If you are ever unable to keep your appointment, please call us to reschedule. We appreciate your cooperation in communicating those needs in advance so that other patients requesting appointments may be seen.

Obstetrics

Whether it's your first baby, or an addition to your family, we greatly appreciate the opportunity to care for you and share in the joy of the birth of your newest family member. As an obstetrical patient, you'll receive a complete physical and learn what to expect during your pregnancy. Visits are typically monthly as you progress to your expected delivery date. As that exciting date gets closer, your visits will become more frequent. Routine ultrasounds and other diagnostic testing will be performed. You'll have many opportunities to ask questions. We'll provide you with a lot of information to take home and read between visits. If you can't find the answer in the information provided, our clinical staff is available Monday through Friday to answer your telephone calls.

Our office staff will verify your obstetrical coverage and provide you with an estimate of any out-of-pocket expenses your insurance company deems to be your responsibility. We'll help you manage those expenditures so that once your little one is here, you can concentrate on caring for yourself and baby. If, at any time your coverage changes, please call our office. Our billing professionals will update your information and help you understand any applicable changes in your financial obligations.

Benefits of Prenatal Care Provided through a Group Practice

There are many benefits to using a group practice for your obstetrical care and include the following.

  • Each physician you see will review your medical history along with the details of your last visit to the office. He/she will review how you are feeling, how your pregnancy is progressing and what has changed since your last visit to the office. By seeing different physicians, you gain the opportunity to decide between various treatment options and therefore obtain more information about what might be the best option for you.
  • By scheduling visits with different physicians in our group, you gain a "second opinion" on your care. Ask questions and become a partner to us in preparation for the upcoming arrival of your little one(s).
  • Regardless of which physician you see during your scheduled office appointments, most patients feel more comfortable with the delivering physician when you meet him/her in advance. By using a group practice for your care, you also can take comfort in the fact that only Hilltop physicians are on-call for our patients. Our group does not use hospital residents to assist us with our patients while in labor. While we're happy (and sometimes called upon) to assist other ObGyn practices in emergencies, we don't "cover" for other physician groups. That's reassuring to know that the physician at delivery has your medical information available from those you have trusted with your care throughout your pregnancy. That may be different for a solo physician practice. (He/she may be at another facility with another patient at the time your baby is ready to arrive.)

New Gynecology Patient

If it's your first visit to us or have changes in your home, work or other demographic or insurance information, we strongly encourage you to complete the previsit check-in online in advance of your appointment or arrive 15 minutes early to complete in the office. If you've received gynecologic care elsewhere in the past, please ask them to forward a copy of your prior medical records to our office so that we have all your medical information.

On your first visit, we'll review your medical history thoroughly with you, talk about your current health needs, and offer you treatment options. If at any time, you have questions, please ask us. Any of our staff members will assist you.

Insurance Information

Hilltop Obstetrics & Gynecology participates in most insurance plans. Prior to your visit, it's a good idea to call your insurance company and confirm whether or not our group is considered by them to be a "participating provider". In addition, your insurance company can confirm your coverage and benefits and help you understand any services for which you may be liable. Should you have any questions about a claim or bill, our billing office staff members are available Monday through Friday to answer your calls.

Our medical team offers many physicians so that you can select the one that is just right for you. No one can deny that for gynecologic care, having the same physician care for you is just "good medicine". For obstetrical care, like most ObGyn groups, each of us welcomes the opportunity to assist in your care. Our staff will schedule your office visits with the physician(s) of your choice. Each of us will be actively involved in your health and the health of your baby. Please review what group practice care can offer to you. We welcome and look forward to the opportunity to care for you and your baby during this exciting time.
